Defect
On the upper arm shaft of the independent suspension, inadequate heat treatment during manufacturing has left some shafts with insufficient strength. Vibration and shock encountered during driving may cause the upper arm shaft to fracture and, in the worst case, fall onto the road surface. Additionally, the upper arm may contact adjacent vehicle components, reducing handling stability. On bus applications, the upper arm may contact the brake pipes; continued operation in this condition can damage the brake pipes, leading to brake fluid leak and reduced braking performance.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the production lot markings on the left and right upper arm shafts. If the shaft belongs to an affected production lot, replace the upper arm assembly with a conforming unit.

状況
独立懸架式サスペンションのアッパーアームシャフトにおいて、製造時の熱処理が不適切なため、当該部位の強度が不足しているものがある。そのため、走行中の振動や衝撃によってアッパーアームシャフトが折損し、最悪の場合、路面に脱落することがある。また、アッパーアームが車両内側の部品と干渉して操縦安定性が低下し、バスにおいては、アッパーアームがブレーキパイプと干渉し、そのまま使用を続けると、ブレーキパイプが損傷し、ブレーキ液漏れに至りブレーキ機能が低下するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、左右のアッパーアームシャフトの生産ロット刻印を点検し、製造不良の生産ロットであった場合、良品のアッパーアームＡＳＳＹと交換する。
