Filing in context
The Other (electrical equipment) is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 23 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 27 Mitsubishi notifications from 2025 in this archive. For scale, 2,516 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 1 year and 5 months.
Defect
The fuse box circuit inside the cab of the electric truck was designed with insufficient consideration. Age-related degradation of the water pump, or activation of emergency operating mode, may increase water pump drive current beyond the maximum allowable current of the connector terminals. If the connector melts due to overheating, a warning lamp (amber) indicating a cooling system malfunction illuminates. In the worst case, the VCU (vehicle control ECU) loses power and the vehicle becomes inoperable.
Corrective action
Modify the circuit downstream of the fuse box inside the cab on all vehicles. Additionally, inspect the wiring connector in that circuit and replace associated components with new parts if melting or discoloration is found.
