Defect
On medium-duty trucks, the side-hung spare tire carrier has an improperly shaped suspension plate. When a tire mounted on an aluminum wheel is secured to the carrier, driving vibration can cause the spare tire to rotate. This rotation creates interference between the carrier chain and the suspension plate, wearing the chain until it fractures. In the worst case, the spare tire detaches from the vehicle.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the spare tire carrier with a corrected part.

状況
中型トラックの横吊り式スペアタイヤキャリアにおいて、吊り板の形状が不適切なため、当該キャリアにアルミホイール付タイヤを固定すると、走行中の振動でスペアタイヤが回転することがある。そのため、当該スペアタイヤキャリアのチェーンと吊り板が干渉して削れ、チェーンが破断し、最悪の場合、スペアタイヤが脱落するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、スペアタイヤキャリヤを対策品に交換する。
