Issue

The panel at the mounting point of the front passenger seat assist grip has insufficient strength. Repeated use causes cracks to develop in the panel. If use continues in this condition, the assist grip may detach while a passenger is entering the vehicle, and in the worst case, the occupant may fall.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, add a reinforcement plate to the assist grip mounting area on the passenger side.
