Defect
Improper machining of the transfer case oil seal bore allows the seal to be expelled from its seat. Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) migrates into the transfer case, causing ATF hydraulic pressure to drop. This produces shift malfunctions and illuminates the engine warning light and warning display. In the worst case, the vehicle becomes inoperable.
Corrective action
Inspect the transfer case on all vehicles and replace any affected unit with a conforming unit.

状況
トランスファのオイルシール取付穴加工が不適切なため、オイルシールが抜けるものがある。そのため、オートマチックトランスミッションフルード(ATF)がトランスファへ流出し、ATF油圧が低下し、変速不良とともにエンジン警告灯、警告表示が点灯し、最悪の場合、走行不能に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、トランスファを点検し、該当するものはトランスファを良品と交換する。
