Defect
The wiring routed to the airbag inflator inside the steering wheel is improperly routed, allowing the wiring to rub against the steering wheel bracket and sustain damage. Continued use in this condition may cause a short circuit in the wiring, illuminating the warning lamp. In the worst case, the airbag may deploy inadvertently when the ignition switch is turned ON.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, add a protective cover to the steering wheel bracket to prevent wiring damage, and inspect the wiring. Replace any damaged wiring with new parts.

状況
ステアリングホイール内エアバッグインフレータの配線経路が不適切なため、当該配線がステアリングホイールブラケットに擦れて傷付くことがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると配線が短絡して警告灯が点灯し、最悪の場合、イグニッションスイッチをＯＮにした際、エアバッグが誤って展開するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ステアリングホイールブラケットに配線傷付き防止のプロテクタを追加するとともに当該配線を点検し、配線が損傷しているものは新品と交換する。
