Filing in context
The Exhaust Pipe is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 35 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 23 Honda notifications from 2007 in this archive. For scale, 681 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 5 years and 4 months.
Defect
On turbocharged vehicles, the exhaust manifold is made of an inappropriate material. Repeated operation on steep grades causes thermal expansion and contraction cycles that may crack the manifold, allowing exhaust gas to leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the exhaust manifold assembly with the corrected part.
