Defect
Insufficient protection against foreign material contamination of the brake light switch contact points allows insulating grease to gradually migrate from the switch exterior to the internal contact surfaces when the switch is touched with grease-coated work gloves. Heat generated at the contact points causes insulating deposits to form, resulting in poor electrical continuity. As a result, the brake lights may fail to illuminate and the shift lever may become unable to move out of the park position.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the brake light switch with the corrected part and add a relay.

状況
制動灯スイッチ内部への異物侵入時の接点障害防止対策が不十分なため、絶縁性グリースが付着した作業用手袋で当該スイッチの外側に触れると、微量なグリース成分がスイッチ接点部まで徐々に拡散することがあり、スイッチ接点部の発熱により当該接点部に絶縁物が生成されて導通不良となるものがある。そのため、制動灯が点灯しなくなり、シフトレバーがパーキング位置から動かなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該スイッチを対策品に交換するとともにリレーを追加する。
