Defect
Insufficient strength evaluation accounting for manufacturing variation in the engine fuel pipe allowed excessive wall thickness reduction at certain machined areas, raising stress concentrations at those points. Corrosive elements in the fuel act on these high-stress areas, causing microscopic cracks to form in the pipe. Continued use allows fuel pressure cycling to propagate the cracks, which may result in a fuel leak.
Corrective action
Replace the fuel pipe on all vehicles with the corrected part.

状況
① エンジンの燃料パイプにおいて、加工ばらつきによる強度評価が不足していたため、加工時の肉厚減少が大きいとその部位の応力が高くなり、燃料中の腐食成分が作用してパイプに微小な亀裂が発生することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、燃料の圧力変動により亀裂が進行し、燃料が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
① 全車両、燃料パイプを対策品に交換する。
