Defect
On vehicles fitted with a washer fluid freeze-prevention heater (a dealer-installed option), the O-ring seal on the heater control circuit has insufficient compression, allowing washer fluid to intrude into the control circuit. This can cause the control circuit to melt. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, remove the affected heater.
