Defect
The front passenger airbag is folded to incorrect dimensions, causing gaps to form between the airbag and its storage housing on some units. During deployment, this allows lateral pressure to build excessively, causing the airbag to deploy from the side rather than the intended direction. As a result, occupant protection performance is reduced.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, install a reinforcement bracket inside the front passenger airbag storage housing.

状況
助手席エアバッグの折りたたみ寸法が不適切なため、エアバッグと格納部との間に隙間が生じたものがある。そのため、エアバッグ展開時に側面方向の圧力が高くなり、側面部より展開するため、乗員保護性能が低下するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、助手席エアバッグの格納部に補強金具を追加する。
