Defect

The propellant in the inflator module of the driver-side airbag was manufactured defectively. Repeated rapid temperature changes cause the propellant to degrade, increasing the deployment pressure when the airbag deploys. In the worst case, the canister housing the propellant may rupture, impairing airbag function.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the inflator module with a non-defective unit.

状況

運転者席用エアバッグの一部であるインフレータモジュール(窒素ガス発生装置)のガス 発生剤に製造不良のものがあり、急激な温度変化を繰り返しうけるとガス発生剤が崩れて エアバッグが開く時の展開圧力が高くなり、最悪の場合、ガス発生剤を収納している容器 が壊れてエアバッグの機能を損なうおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該インフレーターモジュールを良品と交換する。
