Defect
The snap ring that retains the left front drive shaft at its mating point with the transmission differential side gear is improperly shaped, causing insufficient engagement depth into the differential side gear on some units. Continued use may reduce the snap ring's holding force at high speed, and if the vehicle bounces or experiences similar movement, the drive shaft may disengage from the differential side gear. In the worst case, drive force is no longer transmitted to the tire, leaving the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the left front drive shaft snap ring with the corrected part.

状況
トランスミッションデフサイドギヤと左フロントドライブシャフトの嵌合部の抜け防止用スナップリングの形状が不適切なため、デフサイドギヤへの掛かり代が不足しているものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、高速走行時にスナップリングの保持力が低下し、車両がバウンド等をした際にドライブシャフトとデフサイドギヤの嵌合が外れ、最悪の場合、タイヤに駆動力が伝わらなくなり、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、左フロントドライブシャフトのスナップリングを対策品に交換する。
