Defect
In the ignition switch, the grease used on the contact points is incorrect. Arc discharge heat generated when the movable contact separates from the fixed contact carbonizes the grease. Continued use causes the degraded grease's insulation to break down; combined with metal particle buildup from movable contact wear, the contacts become electrically bridged and generate heat, causing the grease to smoke. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may result.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the ignition switch with a corrected part.

状況
イグニッションスイッチにおいて、接点部に使用するグリスが不適切なため、可動接点が固定接点から離れる際のアーク放電の熱によりグリスが炭化することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、グリスの絶縁性の低下と可動接点の摩耗による金属粉の堆積により接点間が導通し、発熱することでグリスが発煙し、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、イグニッションスイッチを対策品に交換する。
