Defect
A gap exists between the rear of the engine compartment hood and the waterproof seal rubber. During frequent vehicle washing, water may reach the alternator and the top of the engine, entering the rotation sensor connector inside the alternator and the spark plug electrode areas. This may cause the engine warning lamp to illuminate and the vehicle to enter fail-safe motor-drive mode, or cause spark plug misfires leading to engine malfunction, resulting in failure to meet exhaust emission standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, install sealant material at the rear of the hood.

状況
エンジンルームのボンネット後部と防水用シールゴムに隙間があるため、頻繁な洗車等 で発電機やエンジン上面に水がかかり、発電機内の回転センサコネクタやエンジン点火プ ラグの電極部に浸入するものがある。そのため、エンジン警告灯が点灯しフェールセーフ のモータ走行となったり、点火プラグが失火してエンジン不調となり、排出ガス基準を満 足できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ボンネット後部にシール材を取り付ける。
