Defect
On vehicles equipped with an automatic cruise control system, the cable mounting bracket attachment has insufficient durability against bending stress. Continued use causes cracks to develop at the attachment point where the cable is secured to the cable bracket, eventually fracturing the bracket. Once the cruise control cable is no longer retained by the bracket, it may catch on the accelerator cable, pulling the cruise control cable inner wire taut. In the worst case, engine speed cannot be reduced.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the cruise control cable with the corrected part.

状況
オートクルーズ・コントロール装置装着車において、オートクルーズ・コントロール・ケ ーブルの取り付け部に曲げ応力に対する耐久性が不十分なものがあり、そのままの状態で 使用を続けると、当該取り付け部(ケーブルブラケットに固定する部分)に亀裂が生じて 破損することがある。そのため、オートクルーズ・コントロール・ケーブルがケーブルブ ラケットに保持されなくなり、最悪の場合、オートクルーズ・コントロール・ケーブルが アクセルケーブルに引っ掛かり、オートクルーズ・コントロール・ケーブルのインナーワ イヤーが引かれた状態となり、エンジン回転が下がらなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該オートクルーズ・コントロール・ケーブルを対策品と交換する。
