Defect
In the passenger-side airbag inflator, the weld joining the diffuser to the gas generator body is improperly formed on certain units. When the airbag deploys, the joint may separate and the diffuser may detach, preventing inflation gas from reaching the bag. As a result, the airbag fails to deploy, and occupants may sustain excessive injuries in a frontal collision.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the passenger-side airbag assembly with a conforming unit.

状況
助手席用エアバッグにおいて、インフレータ（膨張装置）内のディフューザー（放散装 置）とガスジェネレータボディー（ガス発生器）の接合部の溶接が不適切なものがあるた め、エアバッグが作動した際、当該接合部が剥がれてディフューザーが外れ、膨張ガスを バッグに供給できずに当該エアバッグが展開せず、前面衝突時に乗員に過度の傷害を与え るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、助手席用エアバッグ装置を良品と交換する。
