Defect

Improper machining of the power steering hydraulic pump pulley reduces the clamping force of the pulley mounting nut. Continued use in this condition may cause the mounting nut to loosen and the pulley to separate from the pump. This results in the charge warning lamp illuminating, increased steering effort, and loss of water pump operation, leading to engine overheating and the vehicle becoming inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the pulley mounting nut with a corrected part and torque it to the specified value.

状況

かじ取り装置において、パワーステアリング用油圧ポンプ・プーリーの加工が不適切なた め、プーリー取付ナットの締付力が低下するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使 用を続けると、当該プーリー取付ナットが緩み、パワーステアリング用油圧ポンプからプ ーリーが外れ、充電警告灯が点灯し、ハンドルの操作力が増大するとともにウオーターポ ンプが作動しなくなり、オーバーヒートして走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該プーリー取付ナットを対策品と交換し、指定のトルクで締付ける。
