Defect

These wheelchair-accessible vehicles were modified from standard production vehicles by lowering the rear floor to facilitate wheelchair entry and exit. In the brake system, the rear wheel brake pipes are routed improperly and interfere with the hydraulic hoses used to raise and lower the floor. Repeated floor-lowering cycles damage the brake pipes, causing brake fluid to leak and reducing braking force.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the rear wheel brake pipes with corrected parts.
