Defect
During manufacturing, foreign matter was introduced into the resin component of the CPU housed in the airbag control unit, and unsuitable molding material was used. The foreign matter degrades the molding material, causing cracks to form in the internal wiring. Continued use can cause the CPU's internal wiring to suffer a broken wire / disconnection and, in the worst case, the airbag may deploy suddenly and without warning.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the control unit is replaced with a conforming unit.

状況
エアバッグの作動を制御するコントロール・ユニットに内蔵されたCPUの樹脂部において、製造過程で異物が混入したこと及び不適切な成形材料を使用したため、混入した異物により成形材料が変質し、配線に亀裂が入るものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、CPU内部の配線が断線し、最悪の場合、突然エアバッグが展開するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該コントロール・ユニットを良品と交換する。
