Defect

During the outer coat welding process for the parking brake cable, foreign matter was introduced into the outer coat on some units, causing cracks to form in the outer coat. Continued use may cause the outer casing to buckle and interfere with the inner wire. In the worst case, the inner wire breaks and the parking brake becomes inoperative.

Corrective action

Replace the parking brake cable on all vehicles with a known-good part.

状況

駐車制動装置において、駐車ブレーキケーブルのアウターコート溶着工程において、異物 が混入したものがあるため、当該アウターコートに亀裂が発生するものがあり、そのまま の状態で使用を続けると、アウターケーシングが折れ曲がり、インナーワイヤーと干渉す ることがあり、最悪の場合、インナーワイヤーが切損し、駐車ブレーキが作動しなくなる おそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該ブレーキケーブルを良品と交換する。
