Defect
A gap exists between the guide pipe of the bracket that secures the parking brake cable to the vehicle body and the protector covering the cable, allowing sand and gravel to enter the guide pipe and wear through the cable's outer coat. Continued operation allows moisture to penetrate and corrode the outer casing, causing it to fracture and interfere with the inner wire. In the worst case, the inner wire may also fracture, rendering the parking brake inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the parking brake cable with the corrected part.

状況
駐車制動装置において、駐車ブレーキケーブルを車両側に固定するブラケットのガイドパイプと当該ブレーキケーブルを保護するプロテクタの間に隙間があるため、砂や砂利等がガイドパイプ内に侵入し、当該ケーブルのアウターコートが摩耗するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ケーブル内に浸入した水等よりアウターケーシングが腐食して折損し、インナーワイヤと干渉することがあり、最悪の場合、インナーワイヤが折損し、駐車ブレーキが作動しなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該駐車ブレーキケーブルを対策品と交換する。
