Defect
On high-specification ambulances, insufficient evaluation of thermal effects during the design of the brake booster allows the booster diaphragm to harden prematurely. Continued use in this condition may cause the diaphragm to crack. In the worst case, brake pedal effort increases and stopping distance is extended.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the brake booster with a new unit. In addition, affix a label to the maintenance record noting the periodic replacement interval (5 years) for the booster, and affix a separate label indicating the replacement interval in the engine compartment.

状況
高規格救急車の制動倍力装置において、設計時の熱影響に対する評価が不充分なため、当該倍力装置のダイヤフラムが早期に硬化するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ダイヤフラムに亀裂が発生して、最悪の場合、ブレーキペダルの操作力が増大し、制動距離が長くなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該制動倍力装置を新品に交換する。また、メンテナンスノートに当該倍力装置の定期交換時期(5年)の記載を追加したシールを貼付するとともに、エンジンルームに定期交換時期を記載したシールを貼付する。
