Filing in context
The Other (Engine) is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 46 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 9 Isuzu notifications from 1998 in this archive. Defect
On electronically controlled fuel-injected engines, the crankshaft speed sensor connector has inadequate insulation. When water or other fluid enters the connector, engine speed detection becomes unstable and, in the worst case, the engine may stall and fail to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, fill the interior of the connector with grease. If the connector interior shows rust, replace it with a conforming unit.
