Defect
On electronically controlled fuel-injected engines, the crankshaft speed sensor connector has inadequate insulation. When water or other fluid enters the connector, engine speed detection becomes unstable and, in the worst case, the engine may stall and fail to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, fill the interior of the connector with grease. If the connector interior shows rust, replace it with a conforming unit.

状況
電子制御式燃料噴射方式の原動機において、クランクの回転速度を検出するセンサのコネ クタ部の絶縁が不適切なため、当該コネクタ部に水等が侵入した際に回転速度の検出が不 安定になり、最悪の場合、原動機が停止し、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、コネクタ内部にグリースを充填する。なお、コネクタ内部が錆ているものは良品 と交換する。
