Defect
The accelerator control wiring is improperly connected, causing contact resistance to develop at the joint. This raises the output voltage of the accelerator sensor, which may cause engine speed to increase unintentionally.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reroute and reconnect the accelerator control wiring.
