Defect
On the accessory drive belt tensioner, the crimped joint securing the pulley mounting bracket has insufficient strength. Belt reaction forces can break the crimped joint, causing the pulley mounting bracket to separate from its mounting point. This allows the belt to slip off the pulley, disabling the water pump and alternator. In the worst case, the pulley and mounting bracket detach completely and fall onto the roadway, creating a hazard for other traffic.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the belt tensioner with the corrected part and replace the accessory drive belt with a new one.

状況
補機駆動用ベルトの張力を適正に維持するベルトテンショナにおいて、プーリ取付ブラケットを固定するプーリ取付部のかしめ部分の強度が不足しているため、ベルトからの反力により当該かしめ部分が破損し、プーリ取付ブラケットが取付部から外れることがある。そのため、プーリからベルトが外れウォータポンプ及び発電機が作動しなくなり、最悪の場合、プーリと取付ブラケットが脱落し、他の交通を妨げるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ベルトテンショナを対策品と交換すると共に補機駆動用ベルトを新品と交換する。
