Defect
On vehicles equipped with an idling stop-and-start system, the lever and link pin of the intake shutoff valve have insufficient strength. Continued use may cause the lever to break or the link pin to fracture and, in the worst case, the engine may fail to start.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the intake shutoff valve with the corrected part.
