Defect
The mounting aperture for the fuel pump unit on the fuel tank was machined improperly on some vehicles, resulting in an oversized hole diameter, sharp projections on the mounting surface, or both. Continued use allows cracks to develop in the mounting gasket. In the worst case, fuel may leak from the gasket.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, measure the fuel pump unit mounting hole diameter. Any vehicle with a hole diameter exceeding the replacement threshold is to have the fuel tank replaced with a conforming unit. On vehicles where the hole diameter is within the replacement threshold, remove any sharp projections from the mounting surface and replace the gasket with a corrected part.

状況
燃料タンクの燃料ポンプユニットの取付け部において、穴あけ加工が不適切なため、穴径が大きいもの、または取付け部に鋭利な突起を有するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、当該取付け部のパッキンに亀裂が発生し、最悪の場合、パッキンから燃料が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該燃料ポンプユニットの取付け部の穴径を点検し、穴径が交換基準より大きいものは、燃料タンクを良品と交換する。穴径が交換基準内のものは、取付け部の鋭利な突起をなくし、パッキンを対策品と交換する。
