Defect
In the wiper motor, insufficient application of waterproof sealant allows rainwater and other moisture to enter the motor and cause a short circuit. Additionally, improper welding of electrical circuit connections in some units may cause the welds to separate, resulting in a loss of continuity. In the worst case, the wipers may become inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the wiper motor's manufacturing date. On units identified as affected, replace the wiper motor with a conforming part.

状況
ワイパーモータにおいて、防水シール材の塗布が不足しているため、雨水等が当該モータ内部に浸入して短絡する、又は電気回路の溶接が不適切なものがあるため、電気回路の溶接が剥がれて導通不良となる。そのため、最悪の場合、ワイパーが作動しなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ワイパーモータの製造日を点検し、対象となるものは、ワイパーモータを良品と交換する。
