Defect
On large touring buses, the retarder hoses and radiator hoses are improperly reinforced, resulting in insufficient adhesion between the reinforcing yarn and the base rubber. Pressure fluctuations in the coolant cause the reinforcing yarn to wear and fracture, damaging the hose and allowing coolant to leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the retarder hoses and radiator hoses with corrected parts.
