Defect
On trucks and buses equipped with headlamp-integrated turn signals, insufficient consideration during design results in inadequate contact pressure between the turn signal bulb socket and the headlamp-side contact ring terminals on some units. Repeated turn signal flashing causes an oxide film to form on the terminals. As the oxide film grows, the bulb socket and contact ring terminals burn and melt, causing the turn signal to stop illuminating.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the headlamp serial number to determine whether a defective unit is installed, then inspect the turn signal bulb socket terminals. If burning or melting is found, replace the entire headlamp assembly with a corrected part. If no burning or melting is found, replace only the bulb socket with a corrected part.

状況
前照灯一体式方向指示器を装着したトラックとバスにおいて、設計検討が不適切なため、方向指示器のバルブソケットと前照灯側コンタクトリングの接点端子の接圧が不足しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、方向指示器点滅の繰り返しによって端子に酸化被膜が生じ、この酸化被膜が増大すると、バルブソケットとコンタクトリングの端子が焼損・溶損して、方向指示器が不灯になる。
改善措置
全車両、前照灯の製造番号を確認して不具合品が装着されていると判断されたものは方向指示器のバルブソケット端子を点検し、焼損・溶損が認められた場合は前照灯一式を対策品に交換する。 なお、焼損・溶損が認められない場合はバルブソケットを対策品に交換する。
