Defect
In the electric power steering gearbox, the mesh load setting between the gears is incorrect, causing grease applied to the meshing surfaces to be expelled. This increases sliding resistance and may require greater steering effort when operating the steering wheel.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the spring that sets gear mesh load with the corrected part. Reapply the expelled grease to the worm wheel meshing surfaces.

状況
電動パワーステアリングギヤボックスにおいて、ギヤ同士の噛み合わせ荷重設定が不適切なため、噛み合い部に塗布したグリースが押し出され、摺動抵抗が増加する。そのため、ステアリングを操作するときの操作力が増大するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ギヤを噛み合わせるためのスプリングを対策品に交換する。また、押し出されたグリースをウォームホイールの噛み合い部に塗り直す。
