Filing in context
The Fuel Hose / Pipe is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 62 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 46 Toyota notifications from 2023 in this archive. For scale, 1,452 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 8 years and 2 months.
Defect
On engine-powered forklifts and loaders, the fuel return line — which routes excess fuel back to the tank — was improperly designed and has insufficient strength. Repeated engine start and stop cycles under this condition can cause cracks to develop in the fuel pipe, leading to a fuel leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel lines (fuel pipe and fuel hose) with corrected parts.
