Defect
On large and medium-sized touring buses, the brackets securing the resin covers of the roof-mounted air conditioning units received insufficient rust-prevention treatment, allowing rust to develop on those brackets. Continued operation causes the brackets' clamping force to decrease as corrosion progresses. In the worst case, exposure to strong crosswinds may cause the cover to lift, breaking the mounting points and allowing the cover to detach from the roof air conditioning unit.
Corrective action
Inspect the mounting brackets of each roof air conditioning unit cover on all vehicles. Where detachment or peeling is found, add rivet fastening and install an L-shaped frame at the cover mounting points on the side cover frame.

状況
大・中型観光バスにおいて、天井エアコンユニットの樹脂製カバーを固定する金具類の防錆処置が不適切なため、当該金具類に錆が生じるものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該金具類の接合力が錆の進行によって低下し、最悪の場合、強い横風等を受けるとカバーが持ち上がって固定部が破損し、天井エアコンユニットからカバーが脱落するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、各天井エアコンユニットカバーの取付け金具を点検し、剥離が認められた場合はリベットによる固定を追加すると共に、サイドカバー側フレームのカバー固定部にＬ字フレームを追加する。
