Overview
| MLIT filing number | 1148120 |
|---|---|
| Type | Statutory Recall (government-mandated recall) |
| Date filed | October 8, 2020 |
| Manufacturer(s) | Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki |
| Component | Fuel Tank |
| Production period | September 2013 — August 19, 2014 |
| Vehicles affected | 82,590 units |
Defect
The fuel tank mounting points on the vehicle body have insufficient strength. Vibration during driving causes cracks to develop near those mounting points. Continued use allows the cracks to propagate, causing fuel to seep from the tank and, in the worst case, drip.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel tank with a corrected part.
