Defect
On large sightseeing buses, the circuit board of the overhead passenger service unit — which houses reading lights, air conditioning vents, stop-request buttons, speakers, and related components — has inadequate waterproofing. Condensation carrying dust-like foreign matter from inside the air conditioning duct may reach the board's connector. Continued use allows this foreign matter to accumulate at the base of the connector, causing a short circuit between terminals. This can result in reading light failure, unintended stop-request button activation, and similar malfunctions. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, install a water intrusion prevention cover above the service unit circuit board, apply silicone coating to any board not already treated, and reroute the harness connected to the board. Inspect the connector between the circuit board and harness; replace any components showing heat-related damage with new parts.

状況
大型観光バスにおいて、客席上部のサービスセット（読書灯、エアコン吹き出し口、停車ボタン、スピーカー等を装備）の基板の防水性が不適切なため、エアコンダクト内で発生したダスト状の異物を含んだ結露水が当該基板のコネクタに到達する場合がある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、異物がコネクタ底部に蓄積されて端子間が短絡し、読書灯の不点灯や停車ボタンの誤作動等が生じ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、サービスセットの基板上部に被水防止カバーを追加し、基板にシリコンが塗布されていないものはシリコンを塗布すると共に、基板に繋がるハーネスの配策を変更する。 また、当該基板とハーネスのコネクタを点検し、熱による不具合が認められたものは新品に交換する。
