Defect
On medium-duty trucks equipped with the 60A alternator, the shape of the insulating bush at the positive terminal is improper. When moisture containing road salt or snowmelt agent accumulates between the terminal and the alternator body, an electrical leak occurs. This causes the battery charge warning lamp to illuminate and the terminal area to sustain burn damage, resulting in a loss of charging function and possible engine stall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the positive terminal with a corrected part and add waterproof tape to the insulating cap on the terminal wiring. If corrosion is found on the terminal wiring, replace it with repair wiring.

状況
2.中型トラックにおいて、60A仕様のオルタネータプラス端子部の絶縁用ブッシュ形状が不適切なため、融雪剤等を含んだ水分が当該端子部とオルタネータ本体の間に付着すると漏電が発生するものがある。そのため、バッテリ充電警告灯が点灯し、当該端子付近が焼損することで充電不能となり、エンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
2.全車両、プラス端子部を対策品に交換するとともに、端子部配線の絶縁キャップに防水テープを追加する。なお、端子部配線に腐食が認められる場合には補修用配線に交換する。
