Defect
In the brake air circuit of heavy-duty trucks, insufficient durability evaluation of the desiccant-regeneration air tank allows cracks to develop in the tank, causing air to leak. The leak produces an audible hissing sound and triggers a warning buzzer. Continued operation may result in reduced brake effectiveness.
Corrective action
Replace the air tank on all vehicles with a corrected part.
