Defect
In the fuel system injector, an improper molding process for the injector body has left some parts with insufficient strength. Repeated high-load engine operation causes cracks to develop in the injector, allowing fuel to leak into the engine and causing engine damage. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the injector with a conforming unit.
