Defect
The aluminum wheels installed as aftermarket equipment have an improperly designed center section dimension, which allows the wheel nuts to loosen with continued use. This produces abnormal noise and, in the worst case, may cause a wheel to detach from the vehicle.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the wheels with corrected parts. As an interim measure pending parts availability, retorque the wheel nuts once.
