Filing in context
This notification is a joint filing by 2 manufacturers: Daihatsu & Toyota.
The Computer is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 42 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 3 Daihatsu notifications from 2018 in this archive. For scale, 13 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 5 years and 7 months.
Defect
In the hybrid system, the fault-detection control program is improperly configured. If a boost circuit element is damaged during high-load driving such as hard acceleration, the system may fail to transition to fail-safe control mode as intended. Consequently, a warning light illuminates, the hybrid system shuts down, and the vehicle may become inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the fault-detection control program to the corrected specification. If an element is subsequently damaged after reprogramming and a warning light illuminates, the power converter module will be replaced free of charge.

This filing lists 4 type code(s). A vehicle is affected if its chassis number falls within one of the ranges below.
