Defect
When coolant (antifreeze) maintenance is insufficient, the heater core located above the airbag control unit may corrode internally, allowing coolant to leak and drip onto the unit. Continued operation may allow coolant to enter the unit, causing a short circuit in the airbag circuit and illuminating the warning lamp. In the worst case, the airbag may inadvertently deploy while driving.
Corrective action
Notify all affected owners of the need for proper coolant (antifreeze) maintenance. On all vehicles, add a water-intrusion protection cover above the airbag control unit and inspect the unit; if coolant has entered, replace the unit with a new one.

状況
エアバッグコンピュータにおいて、上方に配置したヒーター内を循環する冷却水（不凍液）のメンテナンスが不適切な場合、内部のヒーターコアが腐食し、漏れた冷却水が当該コンピュータに滴下することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けるとコンピュータ内部に冷却水が入り、エアバッグ回路の短絡により警告灯が点灯し、最悪の場合、走行中にエアバッグが誤って展開するおそれがある。
改善措置
対象となる使用者に冷却水（不凍液）のメンテナンスの必要性を周知し、全車両、エアバッグコンピュータ上部に被水防止カバーを追加するとともに、当該コンピュータを点検し、冷却水が浸入している場合は新品と交換する。
