Defect
The front deck water-sealing structure is improperly designed, allowing water to travel between the wiper deck garnish and the windshield glass and enter the joint between the wiper motor and wiper link. This causes rust and abnormal wear at the joint. In the worst case, the joint separates and the wipers become inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the front wiper link rod with the corrected part and replace the wiper motor ball joint with a new unit.

状況
フロントワイパーにおいて、フロントデッキ部の防水構造が不適切なため、フロントデッキガーニッシュとウインドシールドガラスの間から伝った水がワイパーモーターとワイパーリンクのジョイント部に浸入することにより、ジョイント部内部に錆が発生し異常摩耗を起こすことがある。そのため、最悪の場合、ワイパーモーターとワイパーリンクのジョイント部が外れ、ワイパーが作動しなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、フロントワイパーリンクのロッドを対策品と交換し、ワイパーモーターのボールジョイントを新品と交換する。
