Issue
In the pre-collision brake system, the control unit's control program is incorrectly calibrated, causing the system to misidentify forward objects or shadows as pedestrians. When this occurs, a warning is displayed and an alert brake application—a moderately firm brake input intended to prompt the driver to take evasive action—is activated. This may cause the driver to react with an unnecessary, abrupt braking input, resulting in a hard stop.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the pre-collision brake system control unit with a corrected/updated software specification so that the alert brake does not activate when pedestrian detection is based solely on camera input.

状況
衝突被害軽減ブレーキシステムにおいて、コントロールユニットの制御プログラムが不適切なため、前方の物体や影を歩行者と誤検知し、警告表示とともに警報ブレーキ（運転者に衝突回避操作を促すやや強めのブレーキ）が作動することがある。そのため、運転者の不要な制動操作による急制動を誘発するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、カメラのみで歩行者検知した際の警報ブレーキが作動しないよう、衝突被害軽減ブレーキシステムコントロールユニットの制御プログラムを対策仕様に書き替える。
