Defect
The relay used for power control of the engine control unit contains an improperly made internal weld. During use, the weld joint generates abnormal heat and separates, causing a loss of electrical continuity. This may cause the engine to stall while driving and prevent restart. On vehicles equipped with an idling stop system, the engine warning light may illuminate and engine output may be reduced.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the relay with a non-defective unit.

状況
エンジンコントロールユニットの電源制御等に使用されるリレーにおいて、リレー内部の溶接が不適切なため、使用過程で溶接部が異常発熱して溶接が外れ、導通不良となることがある。そのため、走行中にエンストして再始動不能となるおそれがある。また、アイドリングストップ付車両は、エンジン警告灯が点灯してエンジン出力が制限されるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該リレーを良品と交換する。
