Defect
On large trucks equipped with an automated mechanical transmission, a defective ignition switch may intermittently transmit an ignition-OFF signal. This causes the engine to shut down suddenly without driver input. If the light switch is set to the AUTO position, the headlights will also turn off. In the worst case, unexpected loss of engine power and lighting may occur while driving.
Corrective action
Because the root cause requires further investigation, an interim measure will be applied to all vehicles: an additional harness will be installed in the wiring behind the seat, and owners will be notified to ensure the starter key is fully inserted. A permanent remedy will be implemented once determined.

状況
機械式自動変速機の大型トラックにおいて、イグニッションスイッチが不適切なため、イグニッションＯＦＦ信号が発信される場合がある。そのため、突然エンジンが停止し、ライトスイッチをオート位置で使用していた場合は前照灯が消灯する等の不具合が生じるおそれがある。
改善措置
原因の究明に時間を要するため、全車両、暫定措置として座席後ろの配線にハーネスを追加すると共に、スターターキーの確実な挿入についての注意事項をユーザに周知する。 なお、対策が決定次第、恒久対策を実施する。
