Defect
Defective manufacturing of electronic components inside the ETACS ECU, which controls the headlights, wipers, and other functions, causes the resistance values of those components to increase. This destabilizes the internal voltage of the ETACS ECU. In the worst case, the ETACS ECU shuts down completely, causing the headlights to turn off while illuminated or the wipers to malfunction.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the ETACS ECU and, on affected units, replace the ETACS ECU with a good unit.

状況
前照灯や窓ふき器などを制御するＥＴＡＣＳ ＥＣＵ内部の電子部品の製造が不適切なため、電子部品の抵抗値が増大することがある。そのため、ＥＴＡＣＳ ＥＣＵ内部の電圧が不安定になり、最悪の場合、ＥＴＡＣＳ ＥＣＵの機能が停止して、前照灯が点灯中に消灯したり窓ふき器が作動不良となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ＥＴＡＣＳ ＥＣＵを確認し、該当するものは、ＥＴＡＣＳ ＥＣＵを良品に交換する。
