The Fuel hose/pipe is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 26 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 9 Daihatsu notifications from 2017 in this archive. For scale, 3,489 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 5 years and 3 months.
Defect
On vehicles converted to combined natural gas/gasoline (CNG/gasoline) specification, the CNG filler port mounting position and CNG fuel line routing are improperly designed, causing the CNG fuel line to contact the upper portion of the right front shock absorber. Continued use under these conditions can damage the CNG fuel line and, in the worst case, result in a fuel leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the CNG filler port mounting bracket and CNG fuel line with corrected parts.
