Defect
The internal bearing of the continuously variable transmission (CVT) torque converter was improperly manufactured, leaving surface irregularities on the sliding faces. These irregularities cause the bearing to wear abnormally and fracture during use, scattering debris inside the converter and generating abnormal noise. Continued operation may allow debris to become lodged inside the converter, causing the engine to stall at a stop and preventing the vehicle from moving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the torque converter with a conforming unit.

状況
自動無段変速機(CVT)のトルクコンバータにおいて、内部ベアリングの製造が不適切なため、摺動面に凹凸があり、使用過程で凹凸により当該ベアリングが異常摩耗して破損することがある。そのため、ベアリングの破片がトルクコンバータ内部に飛散し、異音が発生し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、破片がトルクコンバータ内部に噛み込み、停車時等にエンストして発進できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、トルクコンバータを良品と交換する。
