Defect
The back door gas-filled stay has an improperly applied paint finish on the outer tube's end cap. In coastal areas, salt exposure causes the end cap area to corrode. Continued use allows the corrosion to progress, causing the outer tube to swell and the end cap to crack. When the back door is opened, the outer tube may fracture. In the worst case, bystanders may be injured.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the back door stay with the corrected parts.

状況
バックドアのガス封入式ステーにおいて、外筒のエンドキャップ部の塗装が不適切なため、沿岸地域の塩分の影響で腐食することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、腐食が進行し、外筒が膨らみ、エンドキャップが割れ、バックドアを開く際に外筒が破損し、最悪の場合、周囲の人が負傷するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、バックドアステーを対策品と交換する。
